I was 32, almost 33 when I gave birth to a healthy 7.2 lb baby girl. I had a HEALTHY pregnancy and worked in my salon (doing hair) until the day I went into labor. I was actively working out (walking and doing yoga) my entire pregnancy. I told myself I had to be strong for the day I gave birth. I am proud that I was able to give birth to her naturally with out any drugs (and I contribute that to my working out and staying active).
A month after having her, I stepped on the scale for the first time in the Dr’s office. Much to my amazement, I only had 5 lbs to lose to get to my pre-pregnancy weight. I was a size 12 after having her…I was very proud of this. Everyone constantly commented on how great I looked…why is that? I wonder, why is it OK to talk about a person’s weight after having a baby? It’s never OK any other time…I could go on and on about that but won’t.
My daughter was (and is still) not a sleeper. She was colicky and screamed through the night. I found myself gaining weight despite my efforts with walking the dogs and doing the occasional weight work out. When my BFF got engaged and invited me to be in her wedding, I remembered the commercial I had seen when I was 7 months pregnant…it was for P90X. I thought for months about buying it and couldn’t figure out when or how to do it. I was not happy with my body and decided to order. Much to my surprise, I several inches within the first 3 weeks and for the first time since before having my daughter I was able to fit into my size 10 jeans!! GO ME!
I was very proud when I was able to fit into my size 8 dress that I wore to her wedding. 5 months later I was still at a size 8 and unable to lose any weight or inches…that’s when I decided to give my body the 1-2 punch: Shakeology and Insanity!!
I bought Insanity with a HUGE goal in mind: TO be in the BEST SHAPE of my life at 35!! I had 4 months till my birthday and was ready to take it on! I have to tell
